This book is the classic, go-to book if you are interested in paper models and toys. During the late 19th and early 20th centuries, toys made of paper were as popular as anything made of wood or tin. Many of these toys had the benefit of being shipped as printed sheets that were cut out and constructed by the purchaser, which makes them the forerunner of the modern plastic model kit.

This book is a fantastic visual resource for these antique toys, which ran the gamut between doll houses and toy soldiers. The designs have that wonderful Victorian=-era lithographic printed look to them. Each chapter covers a specific type of toy, from board games to architectural subjects to doll houses and more. The reproduced sheets, while small, are an enormous inspiration to that small group of people who grew up with punch out and make activity books and still love the idea of making something three-dimensional out of paper.
