Description

The Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial (IRI), CSIC-UPC is seeking for an experienced robotics engineer with a solid mathematical background to work on the project “SMART GAZE” with Biel Glasses[1], involving machine learning, SLAM and computer vision.

The candidate is expected to:
- Implement and develop new deep learning algorithms to improve personal street navigation
- Write reports on the work done and document implemented source code

We offer:
- Possibility to publish/patent some of the work done during the project
- Work together with experienced computer vision team in IRI and Biel company partners
- Part-time contract or student internship, depending on the candidate
- Possibility to use the work as TFM (Master Thesis)
- Remuneration in accordance with UPC scales and commensurate with the experience of the candidate


[1] Biel glasses is a company that develops solutions for people with low vision to improve their mobility by giving audible instructions.

Requirements

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Mathematics, Electric engineering or similar. Preference if it’s enrolled or plan to do the MUAR master’s in ETSEIB.
Knowledge: Familiarized with ROS and C++ coding
Languages: Advanced English
