Sergi Foix is a PhD student at the Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial (CSIC-UPC) and currently working as a support engineer in the Perception and Manipulation subline of the institute. He has been visitor at the Institute of Robotics and Mechatronics (DLR-Oberpfaffenhofen-Weßling) (2010). He received M.Sc. degrees in Intelligent Systems and Automatic Control and Robotics from the University of Sunderland (2008) and the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) (2010), respectively. His fields of interest are next-best-view planning for active vision, 3D object modelling and pose estimation for robot manipulation, and 3D feature extraction.
