Abstract

This paper proposes a novel actuator fault diagnosis method for linear systems subject to parametric uncertainties and unknown disturbances. By considering the specified actuator faults as unknown inputs and approximating the boundaries of state by zonotopes, an unknown input zonotopic set-membership filter is designed to obtain the upper and lower boundaries of the output. Based on the proposed design, a fault detection and isolation strategy using a bank of unknown input set-membership filters is presented. Numerical simulation of a flight control system is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.
