The Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial (IRI), CSIC-UPC is seeking an engineer/scientist to work on a research and transfer project in collaboration with Lob Tech.

Lob Tech is a mobile A.I platform that provides real-time shot tracking and video analysis for athletes. It is only needed to film your match on your smartphone. We are currently seeking an experience machine learning engineer to join our ML team and expand our A.I. capabilities so that we can elevate the sports training and match play experience for all the athletes. The selected candidate will report directly to our CTO and will be in charge to lead and develop the code to enhance the performance of the final product.

Responsibilities:
- Build algorithms to generate ground truth training data from human annotations.
- Architect and train lightweight deep learning models on a computing cluster to perform visual recognition tasks (e.g. object classifications/detection, pose estimation).
- Optimize deep neural networks and their associated postprocessing to run efficiently on a mobile device.
- Understand the parametrize the physics seen in the sports to be able to hallucinate situations with occlusions and or lack of data from the sensors.

The candidate will work full time under a contract with the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) for six months. If the candidate is interested in the role under the context of PhD in computer vision, it will be assessed by the company.
