The "Institut de Robòtica i Informàtica Industrial (IRI), CSIC-UPC", is seeking an engineer to work within the Perception & Manipulation group on a research project aimed at enhancing the automatic understanding of long untrimmed videos with the goal of delivery cutting-edge solutions to the problems of action segmentation, localization and anticipation. To this goal the engineer will contribute to develop innovative unsupervised solutions inspired by Vision-Language Foundation models.

ABOUT IRI:
IRI is a Joint University Research Institute participated by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) and the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC) that conducts research in human-centered robotics and automatic control. The institute is a key player in the Spanish robotics and automatic control scenes, and a valued participant in a large number of collaborations including several ongoing European projects.


ABOUT THE POSITION:
- Contract conditions: Part-time or full-time contract. Salary in accordance with CSIC salary scales
- Supervisor: Dr. Mariella Dimiccoli
- Start of contract: October/November 2024

Requirements

Knowledge: Excellent programming skills (pyTorch), deep interest in machine learning and computer vision, and a solid mathematical background.
Languages: Fluent in English
