Description

The SIMBIOTS project focuses on two lines of work aimed at facilitating the introduction of robotics to new processes and applications within the industry:
- The implementation of shared work spaces between robots and safe operators, where robots work autonomously and / or cooperatively, guaranteeing the safety of the operators, allowing the elimination of physical barriers.
- The improvement of ergonomics and productivity in implementing collaborative robots that work cooperatively with the operators.

SIMBIOTS is a project of the RIS3CAT 2016 call of ACCIÓ (Generalitat de Catalunya) within the Community of Industries of the Future.
This project is co-financed by the European Union through the Operational Program of the European Regional Development Fund (FEDER) from 2014/2020.
The SIMBIOTS project seeks the introduction of collaborative robots in industrial environments, facilitating human-robot cooperation, and boosting the adoption of new design criteria to adapt existing industrial processes to the use of collaborative robots.

The candidate will be in charge of the vision system, involving the training of deep networks and its validation in the real robot. It will be also involved in the integration works to obtain the final prototype and its testing.
